A Netherlands based international court has ordered Isabel Dos Santos, the daughter of Angola’s former president to surrender her oil and gas shares valued at $500m .
Delivering its ruling, the International Court of Arbitration, said that the transaction in which Africa’s former richest woman, Ms Dos Santos had gotten the shares in Galp, a Portuguese oil and gas firm, was illegal.
The court further directed that she must return the shares in question Sonangol, an Angolan energy group.
Ms Dos Santos who is facing several charges including plundering of Angola’s national assets, denies all allegations saying she is just a victim of the country’s political witch-hunt.
