Cletus Obun, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has warned President Bola Tinubu to reconsider his approach to political appointments. Speaking on Politics Today, Obun criticized the lack of rewards for party members who worked for Tinubu’s 2023 victory, saying, “It is a wrong strategy not to reward your own allies. It would surely boomerang.”

He called the party’s reward system “very poor” and likened it to that of the Buhari administration, adding, “APC had the worst reward system under Buhari, and today we’re seeing the repeat.” Obun warned that failing to reward loyal supporters could lead to serious consequences, stating, “Even their prayers alone will affect him. Karma is real.”

The concerns raised highlight the importance of political loyalty and reward systems. Failing to address these could lead to dissatisfaction, which might have far-reaching consequences.
