Beyoncé made history once again at the 2025 Grammy Awards by becoming the first Black woman to win the Best Country Album award for Cowboy Carter.
The award was presented by Taylor Swift, marking a groundbreaking moment for both Beyoncé and the country music scene.
With 11 nominations at this year’s ceremony, Beyoncé secured two more wins, bringing her total Grammy count to an astonishing 34. In a heartfelt speech, she shared, “I really wasn’t expecting this.
I want to thank God for allowing me to still do what I love after so many years. Thank you to the incredible country artists who accepted this album. We worked so hard on it.”
Released in March 2024, Cowboy Carter was a pivotal project that showcased Black artists in country music.
Despite her initial struggles to feel embraced by the genre, this win represents a significant step forward in breaking down barriers and encouraging persistence in following one’s passion.
