Entebbe,Uganda: Fred Bamwesigye ,acting director general Civil Aviation Authority said “security team and fire fighters were dispatched to prevent fire from other jet fuel tanks
According to him,the extent of what caused fire ,and how much it damaged is yet to be discovered.
The jetfuel tank are less than 15 metres from the passanger terminal and atleast 60 metres from the air site as a result ,such accident can disrupt operations such as movement of both passengers and aircraft in and out of the airport
The airport currently has two jet fuel tanks and hydrants, however due to security/safety concerns Uganda civil Aviation Authority has set four fuel tanks and hydrants at least 2km away from the airtsite . The new site for the fuel tanks is near is near lake victoria shores, the tank stores 10million litres of fuel.
