Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), has called on federal and state governments to pay the new national minimum wage by utilizing recovered looted funds.
In an interview with ChannelsTV, Falana emphasized the need for political will to retrieve and allocate withheld or stolen money from the federation account towards worker wages.
The call comes amid ongoing disputes between labor unions and the government over the proposed minimum wage, with current offers ranging from N62,000 by the government to a reduced demand of N250,000 by labor. The National Assembly is expected to address the issue after their break ends on July 2.
