To be fashion conscious and a fashion lover means being conscious of the colours you are wearing or garbed (dressed). Colors have agendas and energies associated with them. Colors have purpose. Perhaps. colours should not be worn anyhow, but a rainbow fashion look or color blocked look is always fashionably tasteful.

Red

Wearing red provides a fashionably hot look. According to discovery magazine (2021), Studies by scientists disclose that red is the most attractive colour to both men and women but, peculiarly, the two genders are attracted to the same colour for different reasons. Women are attracted to men wearing red because it sends signals of status and dominance while to men, it is sexy and passionate.

Red is also the color most commonly associated with heat, activity, passion, sexuality, anger, love, joy, happiness and good fortune. Since red is the color of blood, it is associated with sacrifice, danger, and courage.

Trending shades of red in fashion range from the brilliant yellow-tinged, scarlet and vermillion to bluish-red crimson, and vary in shade from the pale red pink to the dark red burgundy.

Pink

Pink, a delicate color for; sweetness, nice, playful, cute, romantic, charming, feminine, and tenderness and approachability. Trendy pink comes in shades; hot pink is used to communicate playfulness, while light pink is used to communicate tenderness.

Pink is associated with, flowers, babies, little girls, cotton candy; no wonder a lot of baby clothes and toys are pink. Barbie is a legendary pink icon.

Pink like red is the color of universal love of oneself and others; friendship, affection, harmony, inner peace. Pink is the sweet side of red. While red stirs action, heat and passion, pink represents romance and charm. A pink or peach cardigan or sweater for a best friend or a baby girl this winter is fashion.

The saying “pink collar” refers to a female office worker, often used in a derogatory fashion and “Pink mood” for a bubbly mood. Large amounts of the color pink can actually create physical weakness though.

Purple

Wearing purple will have you associated with royalty, nobility, power, and ambition. Purple also represents meanings of extravagance, spirituality, wisdom, dignity, splendour, devotion, nurturing tendencies, sensitivity and other energies. Purple is used in churches, weddings, tombstones and others due to these energies.

Purple encourages imagination and creativity. Try dressing up in purple when you have an assignment. Though too much or too little purple is said to bring out some negative energies.

Lavender (light purple) is a feminine, graceful, elegant color that has long been associated with refined, wealthy women. Lavender is considered to be the “grown-up” pink. Lighter lavender shades have a sacred place in nature, with lavender, orchid, lilac, and violet flowers considered delicate, unique and precious.

Purple robes were worn by royalty and people of authority or high rank. Many believe this to be true because the rare occurrence of purple in nature made it one of the most expensive color dyes to create.

Black

Black is a formal, elegant, and prestigious color. Most high-net fledged occupations are a lot associated with black, like lawyers. Black gives seriousness, authoritative and powerful look; the reason most “dangerous” or powerful looks opt for black.

Wearing black brings out a sexy, sophisticated look. Nothing is worn better than black. Black is a visually slimming color for clothing, and like other dark colours to have depth and variation of sort. In interior design, black can make a room appear to shrink in size.

Black affects the mind and body by helping to create an unobtrusive feeling, boosting confidence in appearance, increasing the sense of potential and possibility.

Black is said to produce feelings of emptiness, gloom, or sadness. No wonder it is a common color of mourning, death, and sadness. Black is often used to represents the emotions and actions of rebellion in teenagers and youths.

The phrases; “black tie” refers to a formal event or dress code and a “black belt” is an expert level in martial arts.

White

White, an inherently positive color associated with purity, virginity, innocence, light, goodness, coolness, simplicity, heaven, safety, brilliance, illumination, understanding, cleanliness, faith, beginnings, sterility, spirituality, possibility, humility, protection, perfection and others.

White will have you looking clean, confident and the brightest in the room. Nothing bad comes out of white except smudges.

Traditionally, in western countries, white fashion is garbed by brides, to signify purity, innocence, and virginity. In eastern countries, the color white is the color of mourning and funerals. For other cultures, white is the color of royalty or religious figures, as angels are typically depicted as wearing white or having a white glow.

White is seen in hospitals, medical centres, and laboratories to communicate safety

As the opposite of black, movies, books, media, and television typically depict the good guy in white and the bad guy in black.

The terms “white elephant” refers to a rare or valuable item that is unwanted and “white sale” means a store sale of sheets, towels, other linens.

Gold

Gold is a warm color and precious material of sparkle, glitz, extravagance, splendour, wealth, riches, power, wisdom and prosperity. Gold is cousin yellow and brown, and have the similar aspects; illumination, love, compassion, courage, passion, magic, and wisdom.

Having golden clothes on can make one bright and cheerful or sombre and traditional.

Gold is the official fiftieth wedding anniversary gift, with copper as the official seventh wedding anniversary gift and bronze as the official eighth wedding anniversary gift.

The term “gold standard” is a measure of the best, quality, and excellence.
