London Mayor Sadiq Khan has strongly criticized remarks made by Lee Anderson, a former Tory deputy chairman, labeling them as “Islamophobic, anti-Muslim, and racist.”

Anderson suggested that “Islamists” had control over Mayor Khan and London, sparking condemnation from both Labour and some Conservatives. Khan, the first Muslim mayor of London, expressed dismay over the remarks, calling them divisive and accusing the government of condoning racism by remaining silent.

The controversy highlights ongoing tensions surrounding Islamophobia in political discourse, with calls for accountability and action against such rhetoric.
