Residents of Olena in Asa, Otukpo LGA, Benue State, Nigeria, have been forced to flee their homes due to ongoing attacks by suspected herdsmen.

Over the past four days, the community has been under siege, with multiple fatalities and abductions reported.

A local resident, who spoke to AFRICAWORLDNEWS, revealed the severity of the situation:

“I escaped with my family tonight. We have all vacated Olena. It has been under attack for days now. They have killed and kidnapped several people. Despite our cries for help, no security agents have come to our rescue. I barely managed to escape with my life and my family.”

Disturbing video footage also surfaced, showing residents fleeing their homes on Monday night as the attacks continued unabated.

The community is in crisis, with many fearing for their safety as the violence persists.
