Elon Musk’s internet company, Starlink, has become Nigeria’s third largest Internet Service Provider (ISP) by subscriber numbers in Q4 2023, according to the latest data from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

Starlink’s active customers surged by 113% from Q3 to Q4 2023, reaching 23,897. Despite higher costs, its satellite service has attracted many Nigerians, particularly in areas with poor internet connectivity.

Leading the market are Spectranet and FiberOne, with 113,869 and 27,000 active users respectively. The NCC report highlights Starlink’s rapid growth since its Nigerian launch in January 2023.
