Iran executed seven individuals on Saturday, including Parvin Mousavi, a 53-year-old mother of two, and Fatemeh Abdullahi, a 27-year-old convicted of murdering her husband.

The Norway-based Iran Human Rights (IHR) reported these executions, alongside five men involved in drug-related offenses. IHR highlights a dramatic rise in executions this year, with at least 223 reported so far, attributing the surge to post-holiday crackdowns.

Activists criticize the use of capital punishment to instill fear and suppress dissent, noting that those executed often come from marginalized communities and face unfair trials. Additionally, a Jewish man and a Kurdish man face imminent execution, drawing international concern.
