South Africa has called on the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to order an immediate halt to Israel’s military actions in Rafah, Gaza, asserting that these attacks threaten the survival of the Palestinian people.
Ambassador Vusimuzi Madonsela requested the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, labeling Israel’s actions as genocidal. Israel has dismissed these accusations as baseless and is set to respond in court.
The conflict, which started with a Hamas attack on Israel in October, has resulted in significant casualties on both sides, with over 35,000 Palestinians and 1,200 Israelis reported dead.
