Former President Goodluck Jonathan emphasized the need for judicial integrity, arguing that a fair judiciary would deter politicians from contesting election results in court.
Speaking at the inauguration of Delta State’s new high court complex and the presentation of 20 Toyota Prado SUVs to state judges, Jonathan highlighted that many politicians resort to litigation due to perceived electoral injustices.
Jonathan noted that approximately 50% of election-related court cases stem from candidates feeling cheated. He praised Delta State’s Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his commitment to infrastructure development and maintaining continuity in government projects.
Governor Oborevwori reiterated his administration’s dedication to completing inherited projects, exemplified by the new high court building and the provision of SUVs to judges.
