Kenyan investigators have concluded a probe into the 2012 death of Agnes Wanjiru, a 21-year-old mother last seen with British soldiers. Her body was later found in a septic tank in Nanyuki.
The case, long criticized for delayed justice, has now reached the public prosecutor’s office for review.
UK Defense Secretary John Healey met Wanjiru’s family, promising continued support and justice, and pledged to discuss the case with President Ruto.
Wanjiru’s family expressed cautious optimism after years of unfulfilled promises. Her daughter, now 13, has been raised by relatives.
The incident has added to broader concerns in Kenya about the conduct of British troops, who are stationed in the country for training and joint operations.
