A Chinese national named Quandong Geng has been sentenced to death by Justice Sanusi Ado Ma’aji of the Kano State High Court for the murder of his girlfriend, Ummulkusum Sani Buhari (Ummita).
Geng was found guilty of stabbing Ummita to death during an argument at her residence in September 2022. Despite his claims of heartbreak over Ummita’s marriage to another person, the court convicted him, citing the brutal nature of the crime.
