In a heated session, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain Dele Momodu lambasted the National Assembly for removing Senator Ali Ndume as the Majority Whip.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio announced Ndume’s replacement with Senator Mohammed Tahir Monguno, following a directive from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The APC accused Ndume of actions detrimental to the party, sparked by his recent criticism of President Bola Tinubu.
Ndume had claimed in an interview that President Tinubu was unaware of happenings outside the presidential villa, suggesting he was isolated and controlled. This statement drew sharp reactions from pro-Tinubu factions within the APC. Dele Momodu condemned the National Assembly’s decision, questioning if Tinubu cannot be criticized or advised by senior senators, and called the development sad and unfortunate.
