The diaspora group, #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria, plans to protest against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 79th United Nations General Assembly in New York from September 10-30, 2024.
They are calling for immediate action on issues including the release of detained journalists, reducing the size of government, and addressing corruption and insecurity in Nigeria. The protest, scheduled to start on September 15, 2024, at 9 am, will be held outside the Nigerian House at 828 Second Avenue, New York, NY.
The group aims to draw international attention to what they see as systemic failures under Tinubu’s administration, including widespread human rights abuses and corruption. This demonstration is a significant effort by the Nigerian diaspora to hold the administration accountable and to demand meaningful change as world leaders gather in New York.
