The European Union (EU) has allocated an additional €5.4 million euros to enhance the training of teachers in the Northwest region. This investment was disclosed by the EU Commissioner for International Partnerships, Jutta Urpilainen, during the launch of a €40 million program focused on education and youth empowerment in North Western Nigeria through the Global Gateway initiative. The EU’s aim is to reduce the number of out-of-school children in the region by improving access to quality education. The €5.4 million euros will specifically support teacher training to equip them with the necessary skills for teaching in challenging environments. Additionally, the EU plans to provide vocational education and training for Nigerian youths to prepare them for the job market. The program is designed in collaboration with Nigerian authorities to address local needs, and it emphasizes involving youth in decision-making and creating spaces for their active participation. #OMAGIST@AFRICAWORLDNEWS*
