The Federal Government has announced a 150-day suspension of duties, tariffs, and taxes on essential food imports, including maize, wheat, husked brown rice, and cowpeas.
This initiative, part of the Presidential Accelerated Stabilization and Advancement Plan, aims to tackle the food inflation crisis and ensure economic stability. Additionally, the government will import substantial quantities of wheat and maize to support small-scale processors across the country.
Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Abubakar Kyari assured that these measures will help stabilize food prices, maintain safety standards, and improve food accessibility for all Nigerians.
