Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has directed the eviction of certain residents from Lagos as part of a statewide effort to address security concerns.
The decision follows the recent arrest of suspects under the Dolphin Estate bridge. The statement from the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, emphasized the need to rid the streets of miscreants, beggars, and destitute individuals to ensure the safety of lives and property.
The exercise resulted in the rescue of 450 individuals, with 371 requesting assistance to relocate to their home states due to hardships in Lagos. Additionally, 79 individuals have been placed in government facilities for rehabilitation.
