Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, disclosed during a celebration of his two-year tenure that he hasn’t received any salary since assuming office.
Emphasizing austerity measures, he cited decisions like not procuring an official car for the First Lady and avoiding unnecessary borrowing to manage resources effectively. Despite a 25% reduction in real terms compared to previous administrations, Soludo’s government has abstained from accruing new debts, aiming to fund projects sustainably.
He pledged transparent handling of resources, with future borrowing openly accounted for and invested in self-sustaining projects. The event, featuring Catholic Bishops, underscored Soludo’s commitment to prudent governance amidst challenges.
