The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has vehemently rejected the federal government’s approval of a 25 to 35 per cent salary increase for civil servants.

Despite the government’s announcement, the NLC Assistant General Secretary, Chris Onyeka, labeled the move “a waste of time,” asserting that the commission lacks the authority to set national minimum wage.

With tensions escalating, the possibility of a nationwide strike looms large, threatening to disrupt essential services and compound the already precarious socio-economic landscape. Stay tuned for updates as the standoff between labor and government unfolds.
