The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have expressed concerns about the worsening economic conditions in Nigeria under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
They attribute the hardships to policies such as fuel subsidy removal, currency devaluation, and electricity tariff hikes, which have led to a decline in the value of the Naira, high inflation rates, and economic pressures on citizens.
The unions urge the government to reconsider these policies and prioritize workers’ welfare, emphasizing the need for a people-centric approach to policymaking.
