The Osun State government, under Governor Ademola Adeleke, has decided to cancel the October 1 Independence Day celebrations in the state. Instead, Governor Adeleke has urged the people of Osun to dedicate the day to prayer and reflection on the current state of Nigeria, seeking divine guidance for the nation’s peace and prosperity. He emphasized the need to acknowledge the challenges faced by Nigerians and use this occasion for introspection. While the rest of Nigeria will observe the 63rd Independence Day on Sunday, October 1, 2023, the federal government has also declared Monday as a public holiday for the nationwide celebration. #OMAGIST@AFRICAWORLDNEWS*
