In a coordinated effort, Kogi State’s Police Command, alongside the Military and Local Vigilantes, successfully freed 24 kidnapped individuals from the clutches of abductors within the ADOGO axis of Ajaokuta Local Government.
The operation, initiated on December 29th, saw the swift response of law enforcement and rescue teams, resulting in the recovery of students and staff from Comprehensive High School, Ajaokuta, and other travelers. Led by the resolute Area Commander ACP Ayodele Ola Arogbo, the combined forces combed the area, liberating three victims initially and expanding their rescue mission on December 30th. With additional Tactical Squads and superior firepower, the team forced the assailants to flee, rescuing 21 more individuals, including students and teachers, unharmed. Efforts to apprehend the perpetrators are ongoing.
Commending the collaborative efforts, Kogi State’s Commissioner of Police vowed to sustain operations against criminal elements, urging citizens to support law enforcement by providing timely information. The success prompted accolades from Concerned Youths in Ajaokuta, acknowledging the unwavering commitment of ACP Arogbo and the security agencies in safeguarding the region.
