Nigerians residing in the United Kingdom, under the banner of Renewed Hope Vanguard, have voiced their discontent over the economic challenges in their homeland.

In a released statement, they criticized the Central Bank governor, Yemi Cardoso, for his handling of the foreign exchange crisis, citing a continuous decline of the naira against major currencies. The group plans to stage a protest in the UK on February 14, 2024, seeking intervention from the UK Parliament to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians back home.

They demand the removal of Cardoso, blaming his policies for exacerbating inflation and widespread economic distress. Failure to address their grievances within two weeks could lead to intensified protests, potentially disrupting key financial and transportation hubs.
