Amidst the prevailing hardship in the country, residents in Ondo State looted a truck carrying food items branded with President Bola Tinubu’s name.

The incident occurred when the truck broke down due to a mechanical fault, and locals seized the opportunity to loot its contents, including grains like rice and garri. Witnesses confirmed that the perpetrators included petty traders, artisans, drivers, and commercial motorcyclists.

Social commentators have condemned the act, urging the police to apprehend the culprits. However, the Police Public Relations Officer stated that no official complaint was lodged. This incident follows a similar occurrence in Kebbi State, highlighting the escalating challenges faced by communities amidst economic difficulties.
