In a harrowing incident, bandits ambushed a wedding convoy in Katsina State, kidnapping over 55 guests, including friends of the bride.
The attack, which occurred near Damari town in Sabuwa Local Government Area, led to the tragic death of three local security volunteers during the rescue attempt. Witnesses reported that the victims, initially over 70, were riding in a crowded open van when terrorists hijacked the vehicle.
The local government chairman, Basiru Musa, confirmed the security challenges in the area and vowed to provide updates on the situation. Sabuwa and Dandume remain severely affected by banditry in Katsina State.
