The 2023 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices by the US highlights that despite widespread irregularities, including voter suppression and intimidation in Igbo-dominated areas of Lagos, the election that brought President Bola Tinubu to power was deemed to reflect the will of the Nigerian electorate.
