The arrest comes after an investigation into his financial activities, with authorities alleging that he was involved in fraudulent property transactions and illicit financial dealings. A police insider confirmed, “Pastor Bolaji Idowu has been taken into custody and is being questioned over money laundering and real estate fraud.”

The investigation is focused on suspicious financial dealings, potentially involving large sums of money tied to fraudulent property acquisitions. Authorities are also examining whether Idowu exploited his position in the church to facilitate these illegal activities. The outcome of the case could have significant implications for the oversight of financial practices within Nigerian religious organizations.

This case casts a shadow on the ethical practices of some religious leaders, who are often trusted by their communities. The arrest of Pastor Idowu highlights the pressing need for transparency and accountability, not only in religious organizations but across all sectors. Regardless of his position, the law must take its course to ensure that no one is above it.
