In a heated session at the Federal High Court in Abuja, Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), refused to stand trial on terrorism charges, causing an uproar.

Kanu contested the authority of the Nigerian government to prosecute him, labeling the government’s lawyer, Adegboyega Awomolo, as a “terrorist.” Despite attempts by Justice Binta Fatimat Nyako to restore order, Kanu’s persistent outbursts led to an adjournment of the trial to June 19, allowing his legal team to consult with him further.
