Russian forces have started military drills near Ukraine, simulating the use of tactical nuclear weapons.
This action responds to perceived threats from the US, UK, and their allies, alongside increased Western involvement in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. President Vladimir Putin ordered these exercises to warn the West against further escalation.
Tensions rose after French President Emmanuel Macron suggested sending European troops to Ukraine, and UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron endorsed Ukraine’s right to use British-supplied weapons against Russia. The drills, featuring the preparation and deployment of hypersonic Kinzhal missiles, are being conducted in Russia’s southern military district, near Ukraine.
