Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, announced that he might apply for the restoration of his U.S. Permanent Residence (Green Card) following the conviction of former President Donald Trump.

Reacting to the verdict, Soyinka described it as a “daybreak on a new democratic promise” for many around the world, particularly in Africa. He emphasized that the Trump debacle serves as a warning and a call for vigilance against various forms of authoritarianism. Despite acknowledging that complete freedom is still distant, Soyinka believes a minor celebration is warranted.
