In a recent tragic event in Obangede community, Kogi State, suspected terrorists kidnapped a Chinese road engineer while killing a Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) officer.
The NSCDC officer was part of the security detail assigned to the engineer. Details of the victims remain undisclosed. This incident echoes a previous abduction where 14 passengers were taken in a similar manner.
The kidnappers had demanded a ransom of N15 million per passenger for their release. The state police spokesman has yet to provide further updates on the situation.
