The Palestinian Authority has warned that US President Donald Trump’s decision to lift sanctions on Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank could fuel more violence against Palestinians.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, “Lifting sanctions on extremist settlers encourages them to commit more crimes,” following attacks that injured 21 Palestinians.

This policy shift coincides with a fragile truce in Gaza, where 200 Palestinian prisoners are set to be released in exchange for Israeli soldiers.

Despite the ceasefire, violence continues, with Israeli forces abducting 64 Palestinians, including children, and a sniper killing a child in Gaza.

The UN reported 915 aid trucks entering Gaza, offering some relief amidst the ongoing crisis.
