The United States has agreed to delay imposing tariffs on Mexican goods for one month, a decision confirmed by both President Donald Trump and Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum.
After a cordial discussion, Sheinbaum stated, “We had a good conversation with President Trump with much respect for our relationship and sovereignty.”
As part of the agreement, Mexico will deploy 10,000 National Guard troops along its northern border to combat drug trafficking, particularly fentanyl.
Trump described the talks as “very friendly,” emphasizing that the two nations will use this period to negotiate over security and trade issues.
