US Senators have issued a warning to the International Criminal Court (ICC) not to issue arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other officials over the Gaza War.
In their letter to the ICC prosecutor, they argued that such actions would be illegitimate and lack legal basis, threatening severe sanctions against the ICC if carried out. They emphasized Israel’s right to self-defense and criticized the ICC for allegedly targeting Israel while ignoring other nations’ leaders accused of wrongdoing.
The senators warned of consequences, including the end of American support for the ICC and sanctions against its employees, if arrest warrants were issued against Israeli leaders.
