The United States is considering sanctions against International Criminal Court (ICC) officials in response to the court’s prosecutor seeking arrest warrants for Israeli leaders concerning the Gaza conflict.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken revealed this potential action during a Senate subcommittee hearing, where he discussed the matter with Senator Lindsey Graham, who advocated for renewed sanctions to protect US and Israeli interests.

The ICC prosecutor, Karim Khan, announced on Monday that he believes Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s defense chief, and three Hamas leaders bear criminal responsibility for war crimes and crimes against humanity. The US aims to collaborate with Congress to implement these sanctions.
