At exactly 100 days in office, Zambia’s President Hakainde Hichilema has fires all heads of Zambia Security Intelligence Services who were inherited from the Edgar Chagwa Lungu regime.
The President has fired and replaced all provincial intelligence Officers as he consolidates his grip on power.
Four intelligence Executive Directors who worked from the Headquarters have not been spared while six Directors together with several Deputy Directors have also been shown the way out
Hichilema has since sworn-in some new office bearers while the swearing-in for the remaining ones continues tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the former ruling Patriotic Front -PF- and its losing allies have accused President of perpetuating regionalism through his appointments.
According to the PF, citizens from the Zambezi provinces including Southern, Western and North-western have taken key government positions, a situation which opposition Socialist Party President Fred M’membe has described as a compromise of state security.
