The escalating Israeli-Palestinian tensions have reverberated across the world with world leaders making informal cease-fire calls.

As the death surges with the wave of violence, African governments in North and Southern regions have raised a strong voice condemning the Israeli incursion onto the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem.

African Union Commission Chairperson, Moussa Faki Mahamat, has in the strongest terms condemned Israeli attacks and bombardments in the Gaza Strip.

In the same vein, Egyptian Foreign Minister has called on Israeli to immediately stop its aggression on Palestinian lands.

Reacting to the regional growing instability, Morocco has indicated shift of focus from its newfound relations with Israel in exchange for support of its occupation of the Western Sahara as it has expressed support for Hamas, the de facto ruler of Gaza.

Morocco says it supports the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state with its capital at Al-Quds Asharif (East Jerusalem).

At the UN Security Council meeting called by Tunisia, Kenya emphatically insisted that the agreed status quo on Jerusalem maintained.

Threatened evictions of Palestinians in the East Jerusalem, Sheikh Jarrah have irked human rights bodies which are now calling on Israeli authorities to halt the process.

Meanwhile, the South African Jewish Board of Deputies has told the South African government to not only support Palestine but also to condemn Hamas rocket attacks on Israel.

The Egyptian muslim brothers have condemned Israeli police attacks at Al Aqsa Mosque and a crackdown on Palestinian worshippers.
