The Chairman/CEO of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, expressed deep sorrow over the alleged killing of a 19-year-old Nigerian student, Afolabi Stephen, in Manitoba, Canada.

Describing the incident as “wicked,” she vowed that the commission would ensure justice for the deceased. Reports suggest that the Winnipeg Police Department responded to a call about an erratic young man, leading to an unfortunate encounter where the police discharged a firearm, resulting in the tragic death of Afolabi Stephen. Investigations are ongoing, and NIDCOM is in contact with Nigerian missions in Ottawa, seeking thorough inquiry into the incident.
