South African tycoon Johann Rupert has ascended to the throne of Africa’s richest individual, surpassing Nigeria’s Aliko Dangote in Forbes’ real-time billionaire rankings.
The shift in status came as Rupert’s net worth reached $10 billion, edging out Dangote, who experienced a decrease in wealth to $9.7 billion. The Forbes list also witnessed Mike Adenuga and Abdul Samad Rabiu losing ground, rearranging the hierarchy of Africa’s top billionaires.
