The Nasarawa governor is moving to the appeal court following his removal by the tribunal. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state will appeal the Governorship Elections Petition Tribunal’s decision that nullified his victory in the March 18 election. He considers the judgment a temporary setback and plans to learn from it for a stronger future. He remains governor until the Supreme Court rules otherwise, as it is within his legal rights to appeal. He urged his supporters to remain calm and avoid street protests. In a split decision, the tribunal invalidated Governor Sule’s election and declared David Ombugadu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the rightful winner. This decision was delivered by Justice Ezekiel Ajayi, with agreement from Justice Chiemelie Onaga. Justice Ibrahim Mashi, however, dissented and upheld Governor Sule’s declaration by INEC. #OMAGIST@AFRICAWORLDNEWS*
