Nigeria’s men’s national football team, the Super Eagles, have maintained their 39th position in the latest FIFA Coca-Cola Men’s Rankings for September 2024. Despite earning four points from their recent 2025 AFCON qualifiers—beating Benin 3-0 and drawing 0-0 with Rwanda.
their global ranking remains unchanged. Nigeria saw a slight drop in points, going from 1498.93 to 1498.02, but this did not affect their standing. On the African continent, the Super Eagles rank sixth, trailing Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Côte d’Ivoire, and Tunisia.
South Africa and Ghana have dropped to 11th and 14th, respectively, following their recent AFCON qualifier setbacks. Globally, the top ten teams remain unchanged, with Argentina leading the pack.
Nigeria will have a chance to climb higher in the rankings with their upcoming October double-header against Libya in the AFCON qualifiers. Positive results could help improve both their African and global standings.
