Nicki Minaj: I Won’t Turn Back Because I Want to See Jesus
Trinidadian-American rapper and singer Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty, popularly known as Nicki Minaj, has reaffirmed her Christian faith, saying she is determined to remain steadfast in her walk with God.
Minaj made the declaration in a post on X on Sunday, where she reflected on her faith and her desire to meet Jesus one day.
“I’ve got my mind made up And I won’t turn back because I want to see my Jesus some day,” she wrote.
She also shared an image of Psalm 36, which speaks about the conduct of wicked people while highlighting God’s love, faithfulness, righteousness and justice.
In a separate post, Minaj explained her decision to share the New International Version of the Bible passage instead of the King James Version, which she usually prefers.
According to her, the NIV could make the message easier for newer Christians to understand.
“This is what the Lord is saying today,” she wrote.
“I’d normally only post the KJV, but I think you’ll understand why the NIV may cut through a little more to newer believers. The Lord richly bless you.”
Minaj has frequently spoken about her belief in God and shared faith-based messages with her followers, particularly through her social media platforms.
The rapper, whose real name is Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty, was born in Saint James, Trinidad and Tobago, and moved with her family to the United States as a child.
She later built a global music career, becoming known for her distinctive rap delivery, elaborate visual style and hit songs.
She has remained one of the most recognisable female rappers in contemporary music.
