Several thousand supporters of President-Elect Hakainde Hichilema and Vice President elect Mutale Nalumango, started flooding Zambia’s National Heroes Stadium from as early as 02:45 hours (CAT) ahead of the innaugration ceremony of a new leadership.
Reporting for AfricaWorld Reports, Joshua Iliya says there has been a significant shortage of lodges and condoms in the capital Lusaka, as foreign dignitaries including Zambians of all colors, tribes, age and political affiliation continue to troop in.
Hichilema fondly called Bally by young voters across the 18-million man southern African country, will be sworn-in hours ahead to become 7th President of the Republic of Zambia.
Speaking Tuesday in an interview with AfricaWorld Reports, a Hichilema avid supporter identified as Mwamba Luo said Zambia has reclaimed her freedom from the former ruling Patriotic Front -PF- of outgoing President Edgar Lungu which he described as a cabal of criminals.
“This event is about reclaiming Zambia from an organization of criminals which the falsely humble President Edgar Lungu led without shame.”
The most anticipated innaugration ceremony which will be attended by 10 African heads of state including high ranking international official, will start at 10:30 to 16:30 hours.
