Cleric charges FG, security agencies to be upright in fighting insecurity

A cleric, Rev. Matthew Olajonlu, the Archbishop Diocese of Badagry, United African Methodist Church, on Monday urged the federal government and security agencies to tackle insecurity transparently and uprightly.
Olajonlu gave the advice during a press briefing to mark the official inauguration of the Diocese of Badagry scheduled to begin on Tuesday, July 9, 2026.
He said that people within the communities in Nigeria were trying in their efforts to ensure peace while advising the appropriate authorities to stop playing politics with peoplea lives.
“All the insecurities happening in our country is a result of politics but I know that where God had destined to take us to, we will surely get there without any political issue,” he said.
The archbishop urged members of the church and the society to love one and other in order for the diocese and the country to grow.
“We need to build a diocese and country where love is stronger than division, where service is greater than status, and faith is demonstrated through compassion, integrity, and righteous living,” he said.
Olajonlu said that he looked forward to strengthening the nine circuits within the Diocese and also empower youths for them to be great leaders of the church tomorrow,” he said.
He appreciated members who had laboured for the growth of thr Diocese, and those who were still in the struggle to achieve the great vision.
