Gunmen Raid Kogi School, Abduct Principal, Students, NECO Official During Exam
Suspected gunmen have kidnapped the principal of Government Secondary School, Odo-Ekina, four students and a National Examinations Council (NECO) ad hoc official after attacking the school in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The incident occurred on Tuesday evening while candidates were writing their NECO examination, according to the Kogi State Police Command.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the command’s spokesperson, ASP Saliu Oyiza Afusat, said security personnel responded immediately after receiving reports of the attack, launching a coordinated search-and-rescue operation.
She disclosed that one of the abducted students has since been rescued, while efforts are underway to free the remaining victims and track down the attackers.
The statement added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, together with the Brigade Commander and the Kogi State Security Adviser, was on his way to the community to evaluate the security situation.
The police assured residents that every available resource is being deployed to ensure the safe return of those still in captivity.

The command also said additional verified information would be made public as investigations continue.
