Tinubu Drug Records: US Court Sets August 21 Deadline for Release
A United States federal judge, Beryl Howell, has given US Attorney Jeanine Pirro four more days to comply with a court order involving records reportedly connected to allegations of drug trafficking concerning Nigerian President Bola Tinubu.

The latest development was made public by Dr. Von Batten-Montague-York in a post on X.
Pirro had reportedly asked the court for an additional 10 days to comply with the order involving documents held by the US Department of Justice, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Judge Howell, however, granted only four days, setting August 21, 2026, as the new deadline.
According to Von Batten-Montague-York, the judge noted that the case had already been pending for more than three years.
He welcomed the decision, saying the shortened extension could pave the way for the release of the records.
“We deeply appreciate US Attorney Pirro and the DOJ’s renewed motivation to release these documents,” he said.
He further argued that America’s strategic relationship with Nigeria should not stand in the way of releasing the records.
“As President Trump has indicated, our shared interests with Nigeria do not mean supporting an alleged drug trafficker,” he added.
The court’s latest order has therefore placed the DOJ and Pirro on an August 21 deadline to act on the records.
