Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has renewed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term in 2027, shortly after securing another victory at the governorship poll.
Adeleke, speaking after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared him winner on Sunday, praised Tinubu for what he described as his commitment to a free and credible election.
The governor also referred to Tinubu as a son of Osun State while reaffirming his earlier endorsement of the President ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
“At this point, I must deeply appreciate Mr President, His Excellency Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his strong support for a free and fair election.
“President Tinubu is son of Osun State and I hereby reaffirm my earlier endorsement of him for a second term in the 2027 presidential election,” Adeleke said.
Tinubu had earlier congratulated Adeleke following his victory.
INEC declared Adeleke the winner after he polled 511,067 votes across 19 Local Government Areas, defeating the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.
Oyebamiji secured 444,815 votes and won in 11 Local Government Areas.
Adeleke’s latest declaration further confirms that his support for Tinubu’s 2027 presidential bid remains firm despite the rivalry between the Peoples Democratic Party and the APC in Osun State.
