Egyptian authorities on Friday sentenced Tiktok Influencers, 20-year-old Haneen Hossam and 23-year-old Mawadah al-Adham to 10 years and 6 years in prison for “Human Trafficking crimes” respectively.
Socialite Haneen was handed a 2 years jail term in 2020 for “attacking society’s values” in her viral videos.
According Africa Facts Zone, she was facing charges of exploiting young girls including training them to share their explicit videos to strangers online.
Haneen has 1.2 million followers on TikTok and she has allegedly been using her platform to recruit women into illegal dealings.
In one of videos, the socialite young woman invited girls and women to join her work from home video making business:
“Work from home and earn £2,025 to £2,430 for making live videos and talking to strangers.”
Local tabloids reported earlier this week that Haneen managed to lured many young girls and women into sharing explicit videos for money.
Authorities pounced on Haneen and Mawadah this week after the duo posted TikTok videos encouraging young girls and women to share their explicit videos for money.
Pleading for court leniency, Haneen requested Egyptian authorities to drop her charges, saying she is “dying” and that her imprisonment would send her mother into stroke.
